Cabinet - CR.24.2.0

The old clay house and its construction form the inspiring foundation for ‘Cabinet - CR.24.2.0’, featuring beams as the load-bearing structure, artisanal quick-build bricks as the containers, and hemp rope as the connectors. In this piece, the loam takes the shape of a modern-day breeze block, typically made from solid concrete, and is elevated to take center stage. The brick's support mirrors the archetype of the trestle, a common element in traditional clay houses.

A cabinet is essentially a smaller-scale house; while the house shelters people, the cabinet protects their material possessions.
